Serendipity Software updates Veripress to version 5.2

SYDNEY, Australia - December 17, 2010 - Serendipity Software today announced version 5.2 of Veripress, a major update to the software that includes many new features and enhancements.

Veripress version 5.2 introduces 64 bit native versions for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. The 64 bit platform offers a 5 to 10 percent boost to processing speed and allows the software to address up to 256TB of virtual memory.

Veripress version 5.2 further improves the Studio visual nesting and layout application. A new auto arrange function borrows from the complex genetic algorithms currently used for nesting, allowing users to see precisely how jobs will be placed for printing. A step-and-repeat feature provides a fast and effective way to output large batches of images.

Veripress version 5.2 brings 16 bit processing to softproofing. 16 bit processing can represent 257 times more colours than the 8 bit mode, increasing colour accuracy and producing smoother on screen gradients.

Veripress version 5.2 introduces CMS dithering technology that reproduces 16 bit render quality on 8 bit devices including monitors and printers. Dithering can greatly reduce or eliminate the banding caused by the limited colour resolution of 8 bit devices.
"Current operating systems predominantly address monitors using 8 bits. Dithering brings super smooth rendering to softproofing" said Peter Skarpetis, Serendipity Software's Chief Executive Officer.

Veripress version 5.2 enhances the system's ability to meet the most exacting colour standards, adding a detailed reporting function to the Calcheck colour verification module and an updated label listing multiple Δ's.
