Installations unable to use the Automatic Updates or the Check for Updates options can keep up to date with the latest enhancements, drivers and fixes by downloading and installing self-contained (.pax) update packages.

Version 5.3.02 Updates for Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion

Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion made changes to the operating system module controlling the hardware brightness level for monitors.

Serendipity Blackmagic/Megarip/Veripress 5.3.02 (release) installations running in 64-bit mode require this module to function and as a consequence will not run on Mountain Lion systems.

The software functions normally in 32-bit mode but cannot be updated using the Install Local Updates option as this attempts to open the Serendipity Updater in 64-bit mode.

To install local updates and fix the bug affecting v5.3.02 follow the below steps:

1. Download the zip folder for your Serendipity 5.3.02 product: Click here for download

Serendipity Server Machine

Copy and replace the "libswupdate.dylib" file to one of the following locations:

../Serendipity/Serendipity Blackmagic/bin

../Serendipity/Serendipity Megarip/bin

../Serendipity/Veripress/bin

and proceed to the next step.

Mac OS X Stand-alone Serendipity Client or C5 Client

Right-click on the Serendipity Client or C5 Client icon and select Show Package Contents.

Copy and replace the "libswupdate.dylib" file to this folder location:

/Contents/MacOS/

Proceed to the next step when done.
