Mac OS X (Jaguar) version of BlackMagic 2.6.01 announced

For Immediate Release
BlackMagic 2.6.01 available for Mac OS X Jaguar
30th of September 2002 Sydney Australia

Serendipity Software Pty Ltd, the leader in digital proofing software for the pre-press and packaging industry, today announced the availability of the BlackMagic digital proofing system for the Apple Mac OS X operating system.

The OS X version of the BlackMagic server is a native implementation and it supports multiple G4 processors as well as the G4 Velocity Engine. Serendipity Software President & CEO Peter Skarpetis said: "the BlackMagic server implements a multi-threaded architecture and we expected a high level of performance on systems with multiple G4 processors. What we did not anticipate was the additonal speed we gained by utilising the G4 Velocity Engine. Our descreening engine has become super fast thanks to the G4 Velocity Engine. This is an important market for us and we needed to ensure that our customers' investment in multiprocessor G4 systems would be properly utilised by BlackMagic".

The complete set of features available on other versions of BlackMagic 2.6.01 have been made available on the OS X version. Existing customers wanting to crossgrade to the OS X version now have the opportunity to do so.

The new version will be demonstrated at the forthcoming Graph Expo exhibition.
