BlackMagic is now available for RedHat[tm] 6.2 Linux

For Immediate Release
BlackMagic V2.3.0 for RedHat[tm]
15th of June 2000 Sydney Australia

BlackMagic is now available for the RedHat[tm] 6.2 distribution

BlackMagic V1.0 was originally released as a Linux only version. The original instalation package included a Serendipity Software custom Linux distribution. However, the fast moving development of the Linux OS soon made the Serendipity distribution outdated. Peter Skarpetis says: "it had become a customer support problem, people would be having some trouble as we only supported a very fixed set of hardware. Our customers wanted the new hardware supported. So BlackMagic V2.x was developed as a Windows NT only version and all the new hardware was now supported by Windows.

With the success of RedHat[tm] the installation of Linux became much easier. A wider range of hardware was now supported and RedHat[tm] would supply quality support to their customers. Peter Skarpetis says: "the operating system customer support problem was lifted by RedHat[tm] so we no longer have a reason to not have a Linux version out there".

BlackMagic comes as an easy to run RedHat[tm] RPM instalation package. It works well with both the KDE and the GNOME desktop environments. The products that have been released for RedHat[tm] Linux are BlackMagic PRO, Bureau and Entry Level.
