Serendipity Software announces BlackMagic version 2.5

Serendipity Software Pty Ltd, the leader in digital proofing software for the pre-press and packaging industry, today announced BlackMagic version 2.5. This is a major upgrade to the world's leading professional digital proofing software that delivers an impressive array of new features to further enhance the performance, user friendliness and colour accuracy of the product.

"Our new JobGenie Technology together with the new programmable TIFF inputfilter, allows anyone with a TIFF workflow to benefit from BlackMagic's technology. The JobGenie Technology is ideal for the newspaper industry which uses 1 bit TIFFs almost exclusively" said Peter Skarpetis, President & Ceo of Serendipity Software Pty Ltd.

New features in BlackMagic 2.5 include

  • New programmable "TIFF Based RIP" using JobGenie Technology
  • Supports any printer which has a Windows NT/2000 driver
  • New descreening modes. Fast2 to enhance productivity, and D-Dot to remove all underlying halftone dots
  • Up to twice the processing speed compared to 2.4
  • Support for the Dainippon Screen TaigaSpace and TrueFlow RIPs
  • Support for the Panther RIP
  • Replace sets now support substitution of special colours by name
  • Support for the TechSage SpinJet, Roland FJ-500 and Epson 5500 printers
