Veripress

Veripress Modules

Veripress has a series of integrated Modules used to manage jobs as they pass through the colour management system and to monitor Server and Client activity.

Each module can be run as a standalone window, or as part of Veripress' user-configurable Monitor control panel.

BookMonitor

BookMonitor

The BookMonitor displays publications polled from planning files using a BookFilter. The publications can be expanded to show a list of pages and filenames associated with each page. The module allows for quick viewing of large multi-section or multi-edition publications, such as newspapers. When a publication in the BookMonitor is selected, it searches for processed jobs matching those in the page list and assembles them on-the-fly for proofing in the SoftProof or FlipBook applications.

ClientLog

ClientLog

The ClientLog module keeps a record of Client messages occurring during normal operation. These messages are kept in the log for a user-determined period of time and can be filtered by their categories - operational questions, informational, warning messages and critical error messages. A search field can be used to find specific messages in the log. Older lines outside the selected time period may be trimmed. The log can be exported selectively or in its entirety and saved as a HTML document or tab delimited text file.

ClusterStatus

ClusterStatus

ClusterStatus monitors the current processing status of the Master Server and any cluster nodes on your network. The configurable interface can list and sort the active and inactive nodes on the network, plus the imaging and rendering status of each node. If your processing cluster needs to be load balanced or adjusted, the Clustering application can be opened from within the module.

DropZone

DropZone

A DropZone is a window into which you can drag and drop files for processing. The module allows you to create icons linked to your Pagesetups and Pagesetup Pools. Simply drag a compatible file onto the icon (called a DropSpot) and it is instantly submitted to that Pagesetup. DropZone preferences allow you to set the colour of the DropSpot icons for easy recognition and the set the number of proof copies for each spot.

QueueManager

QueueManager

The QueueManager views the jobs in the system after they have been submitted. Queues can be viewed simultaneously, showing a job's progress through the system. Jobs can be manipulated in a number of ways, including holding, promoting and deleting. There are a number of actions that can be performed on a job. Options become available when one or more jobs are selected and these actions include Job Info, Modify, Cancel, Nesting, Rendering, Viewing Previews, Duplexing and Viewing Errors.

QueueStatus

QueueStatus

The QueueStatus module displays a progress bar showing the current status of a task in the job queue. As many QueueStatus windows can be open as are required. Each can be configured to display one or more spooling, imaging, rendering or output queues and each queue has a checkbox allowing it to be switched between active (processing) and inactive (idle) modes. If Queue colours have been configured in the QueueManager, QueueStatus will display any queues in the same colours for easy identification.

RIPMonitor

RIPMonitor

The RIPMonitor displays the RIPs that have been configured under the RIP section of the Workbench. Jobs that have been successfully polled are displayed, showing any associated plates. A RIP List is available for you to view any configured RIPs, allowing you to select them and display any jobs. Users may also edit RIPs, either single sections or all of the configuration sections. Alternatively, new RIPs can be created.

ServerLog

ServerLog

The ServerLog keeps a record of operational messages produced by the Server. These messages are kept in the log for a user-determined period of time and can be filtered to show completed jobs, polled jobs and/or error messages. A search field can be used to find specific messages in the log. Older lines outside the selected time period can be trimmed. The ServerLog user interface can be configured to show a number of sort columns including the module that produced the log entry, the date and time the event occurred, the routine being run and the message text. The log can be exported selectively or in its entirety and saves as a HTML document or tab delimited text file.

Status

Status

Status shows the current disk usage status of the drive(s) containing the Server's processing folders including the spool, temporary and Dropfolder directories. Status update interval time can be user-set along with the colour of the Status window.

Thumbnail

Thumbnail

The Thumbnail module displays a thumbnail of jobs as they are imaging or rendering. The thumbnail is updated simultaneously with the QueueStatus allowing you to "see" a job's progress. Multiple thumbnails can be opened and configured to show Imaging or Rendering, with large or small thumbnail images.

VirtualPress

VirtualPress

VirtualPress enables the user to manage the plates of a job. Plate colours can be changed or chosen for unassigned plates of a job. Plates can be dropped or merged with those from other jobs. VirtualPress keeps a session history of jobs submitted through it. Any changes or additions are kept, so the jobs can be easily resubmitted without having to recreate the changes made to them.
