Calcheck Job added to contextual menu and toolbar of the QueueManager. Opens the Calcheck application and saves calcheck results to the Job Info of the selected job.

Submit panel upgraded to show Pagesetup and Media to accommodate new Media data type.

Submit chooser windows selected through the Application menu now state the type of file submission being performed in the titlebar.
     - Choose files to submit
     - Choose files to submit as icc target

Flow Control - ‘Hold After Imaging’ and ‘Hold After Rendering’ - tickboxes added to DropFolder panel of Pagesetup.

Default Media option added to Pagesetup. Pagesetup outputs to selected Media if one is not selected at submission.

Default Media option added to Output to allow output only to the selected Media and keep jobs using another Media type on hold.

Slugline Information render effect in Pagesetup now has an option to include the Media used for the job in the printed slugline.

Lineariser now has the option to print, measure and save Lab linearisation curves. Selected via Use Lab check box in Lineariser toolbar.

Linearisation History now shows the format (Density or Lab) of saved curves.

Lineariser now defaults to 23 patches per ink channel. Dot percentage patch defaults have been changed. Previously created (version 3 and version 4 beta) linearisation curves persist as 21 patch Density-based curves unless updated using Update Legacy Data.

Update Legacy Data option added to Lineariser. Accessed via contextual (right-click) menu in the patch display panel. This applies the saved patch measurements to a new Linearisation Algorithm. The new curve can then be saved.

Customise Patches option added to Lineariser toolbar. Number of patches to be used and patch percentages from (1-100%) are selectable via a pop-up chooser. Patches can only be customised when creating a new Linearisation curve or after using Update Legacy Data on an existing curve.

NOTE - The new Linearisation Algorithm is one that performs better at the light and dark ends (highlights and shadows) of the curve, and with 1% steps in the 1-5% and 95-100% ranges. There is no imperative to switch to a new format curve if the current/imported curve performs satisfactorily.

Measure Patches (Lab) added to Paper Profile. Density patches for a paper profile may now be measured and saved in density or Lab format. Lab format patches display L value for the purposes of sorting. A tooltip shows the complete Lab values for each patch.

Maximum Ink added as an option for each ink channel in Paper Profile. This field sets an ink coverage limit for the ink channel by introducing white space into areas of coverage higher than the set limit. The default setting is 100%, ie.  no limiting. Maximum Ink is a “low level” setting that is applied during screening.

Ink Limit code streamlined to increase processing speed.

Ink Limit algorithms improved to better handle paper profiles with more than 4 ink channels.

Separation Control algorithms and curves improved to work with new Ink Limits.

Upgrade button added to Paper Profile toolbar. Allows one-way upgrade of version 3 paper profiles to allow them to take advantage of new ink limit and separation control algorithms

Linear 3.0 algorithm added to Ink Limits. This setting adds the ink coverage for any area, then proportionally limits according to the ink limit range it falls within. For example, with 3-Ink set to 300% and 4-ink set to 400% - if a 6 ink area of an image has a coverage of 320% it will limit the area according to the 3-4 ink range.

Linear 4.0 algorithm added to Ink Limits. This method ink limits based on the number of inks being used for an area. For example if 5-ink is set to 390% then any time 5 inks are laid down their coverage will be limited  to 390%.

Linear, favour Black algorithm added to Ink Limits. As more ink is laid down and a colour area approaches Black, this method limits CMY proportionally more than Black, preventing wetness and inversion in shadowed areas.

Lowpass algorithm added to Ink Limits. No limiting is imposed until the coverage for combined number of inks reaches the set limit, at which point any higher ink coverage is clipped to the ink limit.

Lowpass, favour Black algorithm added to Ink Limits. Same as Lowpass, but favouring Black, limiting it proportionally less than CMY as colours approach black.

Show Orphans in Workbench now includes orphaned ICC profiles.

Ink Weight can now be calculated and displayed for entire publications selected from the QueueManager.

Ink Key Viewer now allows different weights to be set for each ink.

Ink Weight pop-up window has a Lock button to allow the Copies and Special Colour Set to be saved.

Unknown Specials colour set can now be assigned in System Settings. This allows unknown special / spot colours included in PDF / postscript jobs to be automatically added to the set.

Postscript / PDF Options in Pagesetup now includes an option to allow the CMYK simulations from a PDF file to be substituted for unknown spot colours.

Render in RGB tickbox has been added to Postscript / PDF options in Pagesetup allowing postscript file data to be processed in an RGB rendering mode, a wide gamut suitable for digital photographic proofs/prints.

Pagesetup now has an additional ICC Rendering Intent drop-down for use with RGB Input.

TIFF Image input and output drivers now have options for honouring embedded icc profiles on input and embedding the currently selected ICC profile on output.

JPEG input driver now supports the use of embedded ICC profiles.

TIFF Image input filter now allows processing of multi-page TIFF files.

TIFF Image input filter now accepts 16-bit input.

TIFF Image input filter now accepts N-Colour input.

Improved PDF support.

Adjust Brightness and Measure Ambient options added to MonitorCalibrator.

Find function added to the Edit menu of Workbench items. The search can be used to locate any non-hidden word/function/drop down/database item in a Data Type item setup window.

Pop-up system messages have been streamlined and do not now interfere with normal Client operation unless they involve a question to proceed with an operation, or are system critical messages.

Messages are now all displayed in a Notifier widget and are colour coded according to type - Question (blue), Info (grey/white), Warning (yellow) and Critical (pale red).

Softproof Notes now have a configurable arrowhead pointer option - along with the existing area marker - for more precise commentary on jobs.

Average area dot % measurement option added to Virtual Loupe in Softproof.

Platen Gap setting / override option added to drivers for Epson Stylus Pro 3800 / 4000 / 4800 / 7800 / 9900 / 11880.

Support has been added for the optional Epson 7900 / 9900 SpectroProofer (spectrophotometer). The SpectroProofer can be used to print and measure Linearisation charts and Calcheck Charts (stand-alone and attached to a Pagesetup). The spectrophotometer can be used in conjunction with the Epson HTM.

Printer Embedded Spectro added as a selectable instrument option in the Lineariser application (Lab Mode Only). Choose this instrument and then Measure to print and use the printer’s spectrophotometer to measure a Linearisation Chart. The embedded printer spectrophotometer accepts only Lab data, so only Lab valued linearisation curves can be measured.

Printer Embedded Spectro added as a selectable instrument option in Calcheck Application (Lab only). Choose this instrument and then Measure to print and use the printer’s spectrophotometer to measure the selected Calcheck Chart. The embedded printer spectrophotometer accepts only Lab data, so only Lab valued Calcheck charts can be submitted.

Printer Embedded Spectro added as a selectable instrument option in Pagesetup. Check the Print Calcheck box in the ICC Profiles panel of Pagesetup. Select this instrument and assign a Calcheck chart (Lab only) to attach a calcheck to jobs printed through the Pagesetup and use the printer’s spectrophotometer to measure them. The embedded printer spectrophotometer accepts only Lab data, so only Lab valued Calcheck charts can be submitted.

NOTE - Nesting is automatically deactivated when using Calcheck charts attached to Pagesetups due to the chart positioning requirements of the Epson SpectroProofer.

Mac OSX users can now access the functions of the Megarip Server File and Startup Options menus via a contextual (right-click) menu on the Serendipity Megarip Dock icon.

NOTE - Update Dongle can still only be accessed through the Megarip Server File menu.
