New Features / Enhancements

 

Description

Server and Client version numbers for all products have been standardised. Server and Client have the same version number.

Server / Client communication and response times have been improved to eliminate Client lag when multiple (6+) Clients are connected to a single Server.

Server latency between jobs has been greatly reduced resulting in faster processing when submitting large numbers of jobs.

C5 simplified Client user interface added. Run as an alternate Client from its own icon. See the Serendipity website and the Megarip C5 manual for details.

Export as C5 Pack option added to the contextual menu for Media Database Items. The option exports one or more selected Media Datatypes for use with the C5 Client.

EyeOne patch size has been reduced slightly for all printed charts allowing 24 patches per line to fit within the EyeOne strip reading guide.

Studio application and interface have been changed to enhance functionality. See product manual for full details.

Time-based Autocleaning option for print queues added to Output settings.

Canon iPF6300/iPF6350/iPF8300/iPF8310 printers now supported.

Durst Rho printer now supported.

Epson WT7900 printer now supported with full white ink control.

FUJIFILM Acuity 2504 printer now supported.

FUJIFILM Acuity Advance 2545 printer now supported.

Oce Arizona 250GT printer now supported.

Oce Arizona 350GT printer now supported.

VUTEk 5330 printer now supported.

VUTEk QS2000 printer now supported.

Spot Colour Mapping panel added to Media settings for printers with an integral white or spot colour channel.

Rotate 90 degrees Flow Control option added to the Submit Chooser window.

Nest option added as a Flow Control option in the Submit Chooser window. Jobs submitted with this option enabled will nest as per the parameters defined in the Output, even if nesting is currently disabled.

Printed jobs can now be listed in the Server log. displaying jobname and dimensions. The feature is disabled via the "Log Printed Jobs" tickbox in the Server > General tab of System Settings.

Auto Maintenance functions added to the Output for printers that have the option available. Options include print head cleaning, print nozzle check and Calcheck print based on time period and/or number of jobs printed. Auto nozzle check also available after linearisation chart or ICC target chart printing.

View Original replaces View Imaged in the QueueManager contextual menu and toolbar.

View Printed replaces View Rendered in the QueueManager contextual menu and toolbar.

Monitor and Match ICC profiles are now automatically assigned the first time a freshly installed Serendipity Client or C5 Client is run.

Page Index option added to the Softproof application View menu. This toggle enables the Page Index in a softproofed publication to be shown or hidden.

Slugline render effect now word-wraps to the width of the print job, reducing media waste.

Colour names inside TIFF option added to the Custom Settings for the TIFF Based RIP input filters. This option allows the extraction of 1-bit plate names from the description tags of Kodak Printergy TIFFs (for locally polled RIPs only).

Printer Margins (left, right, top, bottom) option added to Media custom settings. The option allows users to set the margins defining the printable area for the media type and printer model. Consult your printer manual for details of printable areas. Setting correct printer margins is important for accurate use of scaling and centring. These effects will take margins into account when placing images and when scaling to avoid clipping.

Centring in Pagesetup Media Effects now has its own width and height settings, independent of the Fitting width and height previously used.
