Bug Fixes
-
Fixed a problem with Delta lists where if there was a very long text line in the job.ddc file the job would not be deemed valid.
-
Fixed a problem where some fonts would not be recognised when placed into the `new fonts' folder.
-
Fixed a problem with windows printers when named pipes are used as the port to connect to a Pagesetup. Sometimes it could report a `no process at other end' error.
-
Fixed some problems with the Epson 5000 driver where there would occasionally be data loss.
-
Fixed a problem on the Scitex Brisque input filter where some old small files from a Brisque Whisper system had wrong items masked out on the final output. This was due to old units to new units conversion in the CH files.
-
Fixed a problem with the Celebra input filter where jobs sent as negative could not be output as positive.
-
Fixed a problem where the HP5000 would cut off 16mm from the end of the job.
-
Fixed a problem where drop folders could not be shared again after a crash. (The same effect is caused if you do not wait for the server to close down fully but press the windows `End Now' button). This leaves the folders published on the network. Now the server checks and cleans up as it starts up.
-
Fixed a problem where some EPSF files would render as blank pages.
-
Fixed some problems with the Epson 7500/9500 driver where a mottling effect would be seen in dark green area's of the print. This was due to the inks drying at different rates. The top inks would dry faster than the bottom ones causing the effect. You now have the ability to specify the ink density setting for each of the 6 inks. For more information, see New Customise features for the Epson 7000/9000 and 7500/9500 printers.
-
The same fix for the 7500/9500 driver was applied to the 7000/9000 driver. From our tests there is no mottling or black spotting.
-
Fixed a problem with absolute colourimetric intent when `retain black' was on.
-
Fixed a problem in the PCC input filter where incorrect bits were being masked out.
-
Fixed a problem in the polling of Scitex where `.' (dot) files were not being seen so the assign file was not being picked up.
-
Fixed a problem with Scitex Brisque files that occurred if two CT jobs were combined in virtual press, they would output incorrectly if the plates were placed in one order, but output correctly if the same plates were rearranged in a different order.
-
Fixed a problem in the RIP's control panel where a newly created RIP would not see a custom data path after a save if it had not been reloaded. This was particularly the case with the Celebra input filter where the custom data path was /D/Ffei by default. Even after saving the configuration, the test poll would give an error. You would have to reload the RIP by selecting it from the list again. It now polls correctly after an initial save.
-
Fixed a bug where the info slug line that can be printed on a proof would come out mirrored if mirroring was enabled in the pagesetup. We now always print the info so that it is readable.
-
Fixed a memory leak which occurred when pagesetup pools were being restarted.
-
Fixed a problem where the server could crash after a job failed. This would only happen under certain conditions which was rare but more likely on single processor machines.
-
Fixed a problem where the test prints and nesting would not work with the 2up and 4up products. This was due to the resolution restriction imposed on the products.
-
Fixed a problem where some imposed jobs from Scitex Brisque showed pages shifted or incorrectly positioned if centring on the Brisque was on.
-
Fixed a problem where the server would crash if a job failed or was cancelled early on in the processing if rotation was taking place.
-
Fixed a problem with the Roland FJ500 when using the variable dot size. In the past solarisation used to occur in certain area's of the proof.
-
Fixed a problem in the Rampage input filter where merging was not working properly in some jobs.
-
Fixed a problem with the "TIFF Based RIP" input filter where sometimes different plates for the same job would appear as separate jobs due to the naming.
-
Fixed the paper tray and media type handling on the HP2500GA. In the past the selection made under the BlackMagic pagesetup customise box for tray and media type would differ to what the printer requested.
-
Changed the megarip.ppd to be compatible with Windows 2000 print driver naming.
-
Fixed a problem with Celebra Imposition where the second page would crash the server or fail if submitted from Virtual Press.
-
Fixed a problem where imposed pages from Scitex Brisque or Celebra would scale. The effect was squashing in one direction and stretching in the other and only occurred when rotating pages on a printer that was outputting at different X and Y resolutions e.g. 1440 x 720.
-
Fixed a problem where imposed pages would not submit from the Virtual Press if a single plate was cleared. This had the effect of having an empty page and gave an error - Module sscolour.c SetPageSpecialColours: No Plates Specified For Job.
-
Fixed a problem with the Rampage where long files would show a gap at the side of an image where the CT and LW joined. This would get progressively worse from the start to the end of the job. This was a error in the merging process of the CT and LW.
-
Fixed a problem with the Scitex Brisque Impose that caused BlackMagic not to find any impose jobs. This was due to changes in the .assg file which details the location of the .job folder. This now works for old and new Brisque's.
-
Fixed a problem in the Harlequin RIP where multiple page jobs would not combine together properly if some of the pages had an odd number of plates. For example, from a five page job if the third page had only a black plate, the fourth page would stitch the CMY plates with the fifth Black Plate. This only occurred if it was a composite job printed to the Harlequin. If the job was pre-separated then it always worked fine.
-
Fixed a problem with the Scitex Brisque where if a page was submitted from the RIP monitor a different page would be submitted. This occurred in a multipage document so the name was the same but a different page number. This always worked fine from Virtual Press.
