Enhancements and Changes

  1. The polling of copydot files has been made more efficient, especially when they are on the same host. i.e. local polling.
  2. Added an option under the copydot filter customise box where you can now turn off 8 bit boundary detection. Most packages use 8 bit boundaries in compression but some do not. If a decompression error occurs, try turning off the 8 bit boundary detection and run the job again. For more information see Enhancement to CopyDot Filter.
  3. Added some more naming conventions for the Tiff Based Generic input filter. These were specifically for certain customers.
  4. Made some speed improvements in the TIFF printer driver when it is in CMYK mode.
  5. Added a feature with Virtual Press where holding the control key as you click the submit button leaves the Virtual Press window open. This is the old operation. If the control key is not pressed the Virtual Press window will dismiss.
  6. Added an option under the RIP's control panel to delete a job after successfully completing an Autoproof. This is only true when the job being proofed is on the same machine, i.e. localhost is set as the machine to poll. For details see, Delete Option After AutoProofing.
  7. There have been some improvements to the quality of the Stochastic screening. It looks slightly finer in the highlights.
  8. Added more information to the print job info slug line that appears at the on a proof if the `print info' is selected.
  9. Added a seconds field to the RIP's control panel polling interval. It is now possible to poll every second although this should be used with caution as excessive polling can cause network flooding.
  10. We have now double threaded the icc processing part of the BlackMagic which has seen improvements of between 15-40% depending on the job.
  11. The `margins' adjustment has been moved from the printers control panel to the pagesetup control panel under the cropping section.
  12. We have changed the way special colours are now handled in the colour management making them more accurate. LAB specials are converted using absolute colourimetric rendering intent based upon the icc profile selected in the printers profile. CMYK specials are passed through without being changed. CMYK process colours are still processed using the rendering intent that is selected using the icc profile that is selected in the printer profile. After they have been processed they are merged together where correction and linearisation LUT's are applied to them if enabled. This only takes place if the icc switch is enabled. If it is not, then the standard swop profile is used to convert all the colours.
  13. Enabled 2up and 4up products to be upgraded for Postscript and PDF processing. This was previously not available for these products.
  14. Increased the speed of special colour merging when the icc is disabled.
  15. Increased the speed of the stochastic screening.
  16. Improved the compression for the Epson 5000, 7000/9000 and 7500/9500 drivers. In certain cases in the past the output file would not compress very efficiently.
  17. Improved the multi threading performance which can achieve up to 2 times the speed on NT. Other speed enhancements have been achieved in the resampling and preview generation.
  18. Added a 1 second delay before the tooltips displays when placing the mouse pointer over a long name in the queue manager and RIP monitor.
  19. Added support for the VectroPro3 colour library. These can now be imported in to the swatch editor.
  20. Added option for the Panther RIP to be able to select a JobGenie.
  21. Added an option in the Celebra and Brisque RIPs to Autoproof imposed jobs only. See Autoproof Impose Jobs Only for more information.
  22. Improved the performance of the Rampage RIP during the merging process. This is about 2 times quicker than Rampge Filter v2.43.
  23. Improved the speed of the Delta RIP processing and also changed the name from Linotype Hell Delta to Heidelberg Delta.
  24. Added support for single file DCS 2.0 files. This is part of the CopyDot filter.
  25. Added some extra support and options in the Replace Editor. You now have the ability to edit colours directly instead of dragging them into the swatch editor. You can also tailor the special colours that you want to replace to match colour names instead of just the position of the specials that was available in the previous version. See xxxx
